Launching and namegiving ceremony of M/T Corrido
On October 16, 2010, Laurin Maritime's newbuilt MR tanker m/t Corrido was successfully launched at Trogir Shipyard. A naming ceremony was held on the same day.
Delivery of the vessel is expected in early spring 2011.
Corrido is a true IMO II chemical tanker, of 46,070 dwt and 52,464 cbm. She has nine pairs of zinc/epoxy-coated cargo tanks plus two slop tanks, and 13 segregations. She has N2 inerting and stainless pipes.
Laurin Maritime is an established operator of modern tankers trading mainly from the US Gulf to the eastern seaboards of North and South America and transatlantic to Europe.
Laurin Maritime's core fleet consists of modern 46,000 dwt IMO II chemical class tankers which can switch between clean petroleum products and large parcels of chemicals to provide maximum flexibility of operation.
The ships comply with all regulatory standards and their crews are fully trained and chemical certified to ensure that high standards of safety and environmental responsibility are met.
Unlike traditional shipping companies, Laurin Maritime delegates the actual management of its vessels to Shipboard Management Teams, consisting of two Masters and two Chief Engineers per vessel.
